According to Chinese Medicine, as we age, we slowly deplete our “qi” - life force energy. To slow this process, we can utilize herbal medicine, food as medicine, incorporate lifestyle habits that help us harmonize with the seasons, but there is something even more powerful than all these habits combined.
Qigong literally translates to “Vitality Cultivation” - it is the cultivation, or practice, of feeling ALIVE! Through a series of gentle meditative movements, breathing exercises, and visualization meditations, Qigong teaches us how to not only improve our energy levels, but also how to simultaneously relax deeply, and prevent the loss of energy throughout the day (due to physical tension, overthinking, posture, etc). Qigong helps promote longevity, limitless energy, deeper sleep, stronger digestion, nervous system regulation, hormone balance, happiness, and peace of mind.
In this day-long retreat, learn the fundamental practices of the Universal Healing Tao (Mantak Chia) and Healing Tao USA (Michael Winn) Qigong lineages, including:
The Inner Smile
The Six Healing Sounds
The Microcosmic Orbit
Grounding
Stress and anxiety relief
Tao Yin (ancient Chinese yin yoga)
Organ-balancing meditation
And “warm up” qigong practices for preventing and healing joint and muscle pain of all kinds
Morning class will also include a small number of accessible Hatha yoga postures and breathing techniques.
