Get your hands dirty in North Carolina soil

Our farm would not be what it is today without the many, many people who have worked here over the years. Some have moved on to start their own successful farm operations, both near and far. Some have been “cured” of their farming aspirations and have moved on to successful careers in other fields, many of them food related. Some are still with us today. If you’re reading this, it’s possible our next crew member could be you!

Each season, we hire 6-8 employees to make up our farm crew.  We seek individuals who are hard workers, quick learners, can get along well with others, and can maintain a sense of humor throughout a long day’s work. Crew members are involved in all aspects of production and marketing of our crops, including seeding, bed prep, transplanting, weeding, irrigation set-up and maintenance, staking and trellising, mulching, harvest, and selling at farmers markets. An interest in learning about what we do and why we do it is a big plus. Previous farm work experience is highly valued, but not essential. Full time workers are preferred, but part time will also be considered.

Compensation for your labor is an hourly wage, produce to take home, the opportunity to learn about successful small scale organic farming, and to be a part of our farm community for the season. On farm housing is not available.

We Are Hiring for 2019

The Assistant Manager will be expected to work on farm Monday thru Friday and be the lead person at a Saturday Farmers Market, with option of the occasional day or weekend off. A season long commitment is required, with the possibility of a long-term collaboration with the farm. Compensation is commensurate with experience.
