Ecstatic Dance
~ in the garden ~
Ecstatic dance is a movement practice where we can express ourselves freely without judgement, choreography or expectations.
Movement is medicine ~ allow the music to flow through you, allow your body to move authentically however feels nourishing and healing.
In a world where so much stress, anxiety and constant stimulation invades our senses, dancing in our garden surrounded by medicinal plants offers a release. A way to ground, reconnect with self and our mother earth. Release the tension and heal.
Our dance space is sacred. All bodies, all ages are welcome.
Please respect each other and the garden beds. To help achieve this mutual community respect, I invite you to:
Be free - free of shoes (feel your feet on the earth), free of judgement (of self and others), free of strong scents, perfumes, etc
Be present - no phones or cameras
Be clear - no drugs or alcohol
Be embodied - no talking; sounding is welcome
Be consensual - If it's not a clear yes, it's a no. Respect others space if they wish to dance alone
A new set is woven for each dance and follows the 5 rhythms (Flowing, Staccato, Chaos, Lyrical, Stillness) beginning slow, raising to a crescendo and coming down to stillness.
Enjoy fresh herbal tea, a garden altar, and feel free to bring a treat to share afterwards and enjoy the evening in the garden.
