Participants will LEARN:
How to set up a copper still, including sealing, sanitizing, and collecting the hydrosol and separating the essential oils
Best practices for harvesting for potency and how to pack the plant material in the still for best extraction
How to monitor the distillation and yield, knowing when it is finished
Cleaning and maintaining the still between runs
How to properly store hydrosols and check for safety of use
We will explore the basics of running a distillation; harvest and distill a fresh plant together. Each participant will take home a bottle of the hydrosol we make. Detailed handouts included.
Bring a lunch, snacks, water bottle, chair or blanket to sit on and anything you need to be comfortable outside for the day.
